Dishonesties:
Attempted Housebreaking Novar Arms Hotel 13th Jan –
Also Fire-raising – Balconie St.
Large scale emergency service attendance in respect of the Fire which saw extensive Fire damage to a property on Balconie St.
In short following a Detective led investigation, a 29 year old male was arrested. It is recognised the community has been greatly disturbed and alarmed by this incident. Police wish to reassure the community as best they can by knowing patrols will continue in the village. However, if any member of the public is concerned about suspicious activity or witness a crime taking place, call 999 in an emergency or 101 to discuss with the Police.
The community will have noted the large Police presence that week during the investigation.
Theft from motor vehicle – Airfield Road -25th Jan 2022. X 2 Electric Skateboard operating boards taken from glove box of a Renault motor car - Enquiries ongoing.
Anti-Social Behaviour Incidents/Disorder
Vandalism: On 1st Feb between 1530 hours and 1700 hours at Blackrock Recreational Hub 2/3 small kick marks seen on the door with a piece of metal coming loose to the toilet door. Enquiries are ongoing. If any members of the community have any information about this Vandalism, please contact local Police quoting incident number PS-20220202-1566.
Egg throwing incidents
Police are aware through local social media circulation about a small group of youths who have been throwing eggs at properties. These type of public nuisance incidents have caused upset to the residents affected having to clean up the mess. Should any member of the community have information on the youths involved, details can be passed to Evanton online who will pass this onto Sgt Gallie who will address the matter.
Storm Corrie Sunday 30th Jan.
Trees fell from Ardullie, Foulis, Katewell, Glenn Glass, Tallysow, Novar Toll, Balconie and that was just the Evanton beat, Police responded to over 100 calls in Easter and Wester Ross during the storm's peak.
Power outages were recorded from Novar to Glen Glass/Assynt with reassurance patrols carried out through the night.
The demand on Police/Council/Bear Scotland was unprecedented. There was report of a tree having fallen on a house in Glen Glass which all emergency services attended and all occupants in the dwelling accounted for safe and well and able to continue residing there for the rest of the night meaning damage was not catastrophic.
